Postdoctoral Program in Neuroscience

Pfizer Neuroscience is currently based in Groton, Connecticut but will be moving to Cambridge, Massachusetts in the summer of 2012. Neuroscience Fellows at Pfizer pursue basic biology around novel drug targets and disease-relevant molecular, synaptic, circuit, and behavioral mechanisms. Major disease programs include Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, autism, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, among others. The Neuroscience Fellowship Program is designed to provide unique rigorous training in translational neuroscience to prepare postdoctoral fellows for careers in academia and industry.

At Pfizer, we believe that a great deal of the most interesting research in neuroscience in the coming decade will be done in industry, and the resources available to postdocs at Pfizer Neuroscience are considerable. Pfizer Neuroscience Fellows are exposed to a range of techniques including molecular/cellular biology, protein biochemistry, in vitro and in vivo electrophysiology, imaging, neurochemistry, systems neuroscience, computational biology, animal models of disease, synapse biology and behavioral/cognitive neuroscience. In addition, postdocs at Pfizer get exposed to the art and science of drug discovery, with first hand ability to interact with programs working to develop new medicines.
